Franklin County is located in northwestern Massachusetts, south of the Vermont and New Hampshire state borders. Greenfield, the county seat, is located at the intersection of Interstate 91 and MA Rts. 2 and 2A. The Visitor Center is located in Greenfield off the rotary at Exit 26 (watch for signs). NOTE: MA Routes 5 and 10 and Federal Street are a shared road through central Greenfield, MA.

To the Marketplace from Points South:
From New York metro and Connecticut, either Interstate 95 North to Interstate 91 North, or Interstate 84 East to Interstate 91 North. Take Massachusetts Exit 26 for Greenfield. Take the first right turn off the rotary for MA Route 2A East/Greenfield Center. Drive 1 mile east on Route 2A East/Main Street. At the end of the Town Common, take a left at the traffic light onto Federal Street/Rts. 5-10 North. Travel 1.45 miles north on Federal Street. From upstate New York (Albany area) and upper Berkshire County, take MA Rt. 2 East. At the intersection of Rt. 2 and Interstate 91 in Greenfield, go halfway around the rotary and take right for Greenfield Center/Rt. 2A East. Drive 1 mile east on Route 2A East/Main Street. At the end of the Town Common, take a left at the traffic light onto Federal Street/Rts. 5-10 North. Travel 1.45 miles north on Federal Street. From Boston and eastern Massachusetts, take Interstate 90/Mass Pike West to Interstate 91 North in Chicopee. On Interstate 91 North, take Massachusetts Exit 26 for Greenfield.
